Jen Gambuti, MHC-LP
I have recently received my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Medaille College and am eager to begin my practice under Lo Torres’ supervision. To me, therapy is an opportunity for individuals to acknowledge current dilemmas, set goals, and receive guidance towards a successful future.
Many times, clients will reach out for additional support when times are becoming more overwhelming or challenging. I use a Solution-Focused approach to help my clients reduce their depression and anxiety symptoms utilizing skills and techniques as needed from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I aim to work with every individual client to establish goals while teaching skills and techniques to encourage growth. I strive to be genuine in my practice and provide my office as a safe space in which clients may feel free to explore and express painful feelings knowing I am there with them. My priority is to utilize the most appropriate theoretical approach to ensure the current need of the session is met, therefore, I have a prescriptive ability to alternate between approaches. Together, we will set short-term and longer-term goals that the client will work towards with my guidance and support along with the tools I provide within our sessions. I am providing in person sessions at the Therapy Barn as well as telehealth. My research regarding Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS Therapy) has recently been published on Science Direct. www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1935861X20301789 Contact Jen (845) 723-1966 or (845) 255-5617 jengambuti21@gmail.com |
